Tessa Froom, Birth Doula
"I am passionate about supporting women during such a special time! I love learning about a woman's birth experience, wishes, desires, and I want to support women and babies in having the best birth possible! I know for myself, having a calm, non-judgmental presence made my birth an amazing experience and helped me handle the whole process 10x better!"
Tessa is a professionally DONA-trained Birth Doula who is active is supporting women's health and well being. Her passion for serving women and children began after the birth of her first child in 2008. She believes that there is a mind, body, and spirit connection in each of us that results in natural beauty when we tap into that. Her focus is on helping women be as best prepared for those special moments as possible!
Tessa learned in her doula training about Kangaroo Care and how important it is in those first few hours to hold your baby, which can alter breathing patterns and hormones. She knew right then that she wanted to advocate for other women and teach others the high value of not only Kangaroo Care, but about the mind-body connection before, during, and after labor. Tessa received her BA in psychology in 2011 and continues her education into the counseling profession. She has also served as a domestic violence advocate, childcare worker, nursery worker, a nanny, an ESL tutor in Japan, a military wife for 8 sweet years, and last, but most importantly, Tessa is a mother of three amazing kids that has helped form her into the person she is today. |
