A Letter From Natalia

February 18, 2015

For the past 5 years, it has been my pleasure to serve as a primary service doula for attending births for Moms & Families.  I am pleased to announce that A Woman's Design is now expanding, and being added to our team are 3 birth doulas, educators, and  postpartum partners who are just as passionate about delivering great service for Mothers and Couples before, during, and after their birth.

I would cordially invite you to our Open House on April 18 to meet our team, and encourage them along the way.  This will be held at A Woman's Design, 1711 County Rd B West in Roseville.

Feel free to personally send me a note or call (612) 801-9886 if you have any questions in advance.

You are beautifully and wonderfully made,

Natalia

HAPPENINGS IN THE BIRTH WORLD

Are you familiar with chiropractic during pregnancy? “Finally it seems as though the wisdom of whole-body healthcare and the necessity of a balanced spine and pelvis in healthy birth is becoming accepted for what it is: an integral part of birth preparation…”

“The Growing Role of Chiropractic in Childbirth Education” by Sarah Clark: http://pathwaystofamilywellness.org/Chiropractic/the-growing-role-of-chiropractic-in-childbirth-education.html

For new parents, relationship love may not be top of mind, as it has lots of competition in the first days, weeks, months, and years of parenting. But it's important not to let your relationship take a back seat for too long. The following guest post by life coach and relationship expert Linda Salazar shares some simple tips that can be implemented right away and will go a long way to helping you maintain communication and respect.

Relationship After Baby: 5 Tips for Strengthening Your Relationship
When seeking to maximize your comfort and minimize interventions during your hospital or birth center birth, there are some simple things you can do to be your own best advocate. Be sure to also share these tips with your partner and/or birth support team, as they will be able to help speak up on your behalf while you are in la-la-laborland.

Speaking Up Is Hard to Do -- But It's Worth It

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Team Member Spotlight:
A Woman's Design (AWD) was founded by Natalia Hals in 2009 to provide childbirth
preparation and doula services. As the practice grew, so did the services Natalia offered. The Nesting
Place
(TNP) was established in 2013 with a broad range of pre-pregnancy, childbirth, sibling, early
parenthood, and post-partum classes.
As TNP has grown, Natalia has added additional doulas, care providers and other practitioners. TNP had
outgrown its space in Circle Pines and moved to a new, more centrally located space in Roseville in
November 2014. TNP shares an office suite with Greener Farmacy, a holistic nutrition provider focused

on women's health.

Laura Carr provides holistic nutrition services for women's health. She can address a broad spectrum of women's health topics, including problems with food, fertility, hormones, weight, energy and more with gentle, naturally healing protocols and therapies. Laura is a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) also trained in natural family planning and wellness yoga. Helping women reclaim their optimal health, fertility, and life vitality is Laura's deep passion and life mission.

Follow her free health posts and learn more about how Laura can help at www.greenerFarmacy.com and www.facebook.com/greenerfarmacy or contact her at laura@greenerFarmacy.com.

Laura is one of the great service providers that has teamed up with A Woman's Design and has an office at The Nesting Place. She will also participate in First Fridays and our April Shower- both great opportunities to meet her.

Laura offers friends of The Nesting Place a free 15-min phone appointment to answer their health questions and familiarize them with her approach to holistic women's health to determine if her services would be a good fit. Please email laura@greenerFarmacy.com or call her at 651.338.0175.

YOU'RE INVITED

We encourage you to see why we’re so excited by stopping by our new location in Roseville for an open house. You’ll be able to explore the space, meet the staff, have your questions answered and schedule appointments. Open house hours are Saturday, April 18, 10am-1pm.

In the meantime, be sure to check out our websites for a list of classes and services

CLASSES AND EVENTS

As a childbirth educator, I often hear, "When's the best time to take a childbirth class?" And it's a great question! For a general "childbirth 101" class, it's important to take it close enough to your due (guess) date so that the information will still be fresh, but not too close in case your baby decides to be born early. That being said, there are a few different types of classes available during pregnancy, and not all should be taken during the same time frame.

When Should I Take a Childbirth Class?
