Beka Herzog, Birth & Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator
"I am passionate about helping parents prepare. My goals are to provide evidence-based information and gentle guidance as parents learn and make decisions about birth and parenting."

Beka supports families as a CHILDBIRTH EDUCATOR in group classes and private classes. She especially loves working one on one with families to tailor a class to their individual family's needs. Her classes focus on evidence-based information and support families in making decision about birth that are right for them.
Beka's experience includes low intervention homebirths, highly medical hospital births, as well as births that fall somewhere in between. As a BIRTH DOULA, she helps families think about what they want for their birth and how to prepare for it. She provides calm and encouraging support during birth and helps create the space for partners and other support people to have their own experience by being a support person for them as well.
As a POSTPARTUM DOULA, Beka supports the household so that the family can focus on caring for and bonding with their new baby(ies) as well as meeting the physical and emotional needs of the parents. She believes that it is important for parents to have information and support and that parents are the most qualified people to decide how to parent their children. She supports parents as they find their own way to parent.
Beka's other interests include tango and belly dance, rock climbing, canoeing, and hiking, and urban farming with an organic garden and backyard chickens. Although Beka has lived other places, including a year in Ecuador, she grew up in Minneapolis and she still loves living here with her husband and their two children.
